Safai Sena is a registered associatoin of wastepickers, doorstep waste collectors, itinerant buyers and other small waste traders. Safai Sena wanted a website where we can tell you about our work, about us and a means by which you could learn about waste recyclers and their work in general. Our website is made to help the public to understand us better, and to learn about why we are important. Safai Sena is helping its members to get these U-IDs, because usually wastepickers and kabaris have no documents and they are harassed all the time. First of all Safai Sena waste pickers were made aware about the UID smart card through meetings. Safai Sena is working with Chintan to help train up a group of persons who can impart technical training to us, learn to run meetings and mobilize people, learn to run Safai Sena and will become an asset to us in our work.
